The problems accounting firms describe
Volume, not complexity, is the challenge. Fifty clients each needing five documents a month is 250 small chases, and any of them can stall a close. Without a register, the firm discovers the stall at month end.
- High-volume recurring input collection
- Uneven workload across staff
- Inconsistent month-end process
- Late billing on recurring engagements
Capabilities that scale with volume
Service-driven document requirements, workflow templates for repeating engagements, task boards per staff member, a compliance register with risk states, internal chat for escalation, and billing that follows the engaged services.
Example: a monthly portfolio close
Each staff member opens their assigned clients, sees outstanding inputs, and escalates only the clients that have not responded. Workflow steps carry each engagement from inputs received through review to completion, and invoices are raised at the end of the cycle from the same service list.
Scope
TaxOS is practice-management software: it tracks and reminds, and does not file returns with any government portal. Firms keep their existing accounting and filing tools; TaxOS runs the practice operations layer above them.
